American Samoa residents: visa requirements using a United States passport

Travel and entry information updated October 14, 2026. Confirm requirements with the relevant authorities.

American Samoa does not issue its own passport

American Samoa is an unincorporated territory of the United States (residents hold US passports as non-citizen nationals): residents travel on a United States passport, not a separate "American Samoa" passport. A few destinations apply different rules to American Samoa than to United States even though it's the same document; where they don't, the numbers below match the United States passport's own data.
